Fantastic news. I'm not interested in most anime, but there's an itch I get that only Bebop and Samurai Champloo can scratch. I can't wait to hear the soundtrack.

Kids on the Slope was a large reason I started listening to Jazz as a kid. I still listen to the last episode's version of Moanin' multiple times a month. Yoko Kanno (composer for Cowboy Bebop) was the composer for the show. And the animation is a treat for musicians, since they went to the effort to accurately animate the performances.
Kids on the Slope felt special when I watched it as a kid. But I gained more of an appreciation revisiting it as an adult, as I caught so much subtext that I'd missed.
