Whoo boy this looks really good. I admittedly had to drop the video game because I was not in the mood to beat my head against the wall regarding the Guardian Ape (I think I had tried him like 10 times with no real progress), but I loved the story the game was building. I'm very excited to catch this when it releases.

You can definitely beat him - if you care enough to, try to watch a video of other people facing him, it can help a lot with understanding his attack patterns and what windows you can parry his attacks, and what you would prefer to run/avoid.

I think this boss fight was the biggest obstacle for a lot of people minus the final boss fight in the good ending. That fight took me a whole weekend of attempts before I finally beat him

He's sort of a mentality check as he's one of the first bosses where "parry everything" is not happening so you need to run and dodge more at first.

Thanks - I know I can beat him if I got that far in the game. I think part of the issue was the 2nd phase playstyle was so different and it was tough for me to nail the parry down. Another reason I put it down was because my computer died so I had to get a new motherboard and just never reinstalled the game. I'll definitely come back to it at some point, but thank you for the words of encouragement.

I have had this game on my wishlist for a while, but have not had a good time to dive I to it yet. Is it important to play the game before watching this?

I can't tell you for sure seeing as how I haven't watched the anime yet. I can see some major plot points in the trailer that occurred in the game, so I am guessing it's a reimagining/adaptation....

You probably don't need to, but there is a 'cool factor ' in playing/watching the source material before seeing an adaptation. Can also be a better judge with how you found the anime, but sometimes ignorance is bliss and you can like something that a lot of people didn't for whatever reason
