Been playing league longer than most people now (early Season 2) and I'll probably be stepping away indefinitely now. I already have not played for several months but the game in general has taken a shitty turn with censorship and communication, and addressing issues that I don't care about compared to balance changes which should be taking priority. Had some of the most fun on this game, as well as some of the most frustrating moments of gaming on here as well.

Do you think you can expand on this comment a bit more? Would PSVR2 be a subpar experience on PC compared to the index or something? I've never really tried VR yet so just looking for more info.

I think this is pretty great news for people interested in VR. There's enough fragmentation as it is, having a VR headset you can use on PC and Console sounds great.

I think I will most likely wait for a price drop on the last gen QD-OLED ultrawides later in the year (if there are any) and get a separate KVM like you suggested. We'll see what happens several months from now, however :)

I am quite sure about OLED, yes. I don't find burn-in to be as much of a problem as some people I think. There's quite a few technologies/methods that are employed these days for burn-in prevention:

    • Pixel shifting / orbiting
    • Pixel refreshing
    • Pixel cleaning
    • Automatic brightness dimming

The C1 OLED I currently have is hooked up to a PC and there's no burn-in as far as I can tell. Granted, I don't use it constantly as a computer. As for resale value, with how good QD-OLED seems to have gotten, I don't plan to resell this next monitor, and will most likely use it for its entire lifespan, essentially.

50% of retail seemed lower than I expected to be honest, but perhaps with how great panel innovation has gotten it has deflated the prices more than I expected. Thanks for the input though.

Thanks for the reply. The main reasoning for me not wanting to have a separate KVM is simply for a tidier desk and a smaller footprint lol, other than that I don't mind buying a separate one. Do you have any recommendations? A simple (but not shoddily built) one would do the trick for me. I just need one that will switch my keyboard/mouse (and webcam potentially if possible?) between my work and personal PC.

Going for the last gen tech is also appealing to me, I have only heard good things about the Alienware monitor you mentioned.

Sometime this year, probably around the middle of the year or later depending on my welfare, I want to replace my two monitors with an ultra wide.

I do have some preferences, such as:

    • OLED Preferably
    • Built in KVM
    • 120hz or above refresh
    • Has the ability to show two separate computers screens at once. Just in case I'm not being clear, two separate computers are plugged in as inputs and it can output the display for both on the same screen by dividing the screen in half. I've only seen this feature on one monitor, an ultrawide ASUS one but that was roughly $2000. This is probably the most 'nice to have' feature.

Would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks.

Also, I have two monitors I would like to sell when I replace them, these being an ASUS VG27AQ, and a Dell S2721QS. Both of them are in perfect condition, other than being slightly dusty. What would be a fair price to list them for when selling?

Linux for me has been quite great, especially with the Steam Deck, however I've had two unfortunate experiences:

    1. I had a Pop_OS Dual Boot which just crashed completely and had some sort of BIOS error, it would never boot up. I created a reddit thread asking about it but unfortunately I nuked the account and I can't recall what it was.

    2. And one that just happened yesterday, Riot implementing Vanguard in League of Legends, which therefore makes the game no longer playable in the coming weeks on Linux. While this is not any fault of Linux, just sucks that there is an incompatibility issue there for me.

Other then that it's fantastic - especially if you only play Single Player games, it's probably just as good of an experience as Windows honestly.

Haha your comment was the most thought provoking (in an amusing way, I enjoyed it a lot, thanks).

I've only made a 'friend or two' in university myself (I don't easily consider people I meet a friend, I put a lot of weight on that word) so my sample size is quite literal. I could have just had bad luck twice in a row. I don't know if I was filling in an emotional void that they wanted to fill, or they were more communicative with their problems than 'the average guy', but it was more than I expected I guess. If I were to humble brag, I've had multiple people (girls and guys alike) saying I am extremely easy to open up to, so maybe the felt less judged as well? I'm not sure.

Did you find that almost every time you hung out was an emotional affair with a lot of discussion about feelings, etc? Did you ever simply have fun?

Oh yeah, with the individual I mentioned in the OP, we've had lots of fun together, from sleep overs, being out late, playing video games (both together and online), and various other things. It definitely was not just sessions of emotional therapy or whatever lol, sorry if I made it seem that way.

I should have given a more thorough explanation about this part, sorry. At this time, COVID was at its height with the omnicron variant, but I still personally reached out to three of my friends...

I understand that your wedding took place in a location that made it prohibitively expensive and/or time-consuming for people to attend. But to some extent, the way you framed it ... you made that decision for other people, including your close friend, for whom you'd drive out at all hours to spend time with. It is entirely possible that they took it as a slight that you didn't even consider inviting them

I should have given a more thorough explanation about this part, sorry. At this time, COVID was at its height with the omnicron variant, but I still personally reached out to three of my friends (one of them being the one mentioned in the post above) saying 'you're all more than invited to come to the wedding, and it would be great if you can, but don't feel pressured at all if you cannot, I completely understand.' Or something along those lines.

I imagine the pressure is now on you and your spouse to have kids

With the way the current socioeconomic conditions of the country I live in is, fortunately I do not have plans to do so any time soon, if ever.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply :)

Haha, I appreciate your passion for the subject, but I would say I am definitely not a 'hopeless romantic' type. Like you said, I married my partner and I intend to spend the rest of my life with them (which hopefully will be a decent while), why can't I then have the 'luxury' of spending time with my friends who I shared so much of my life with previously, when I know I am going to be spending the majority of my remaining life span with the same person?

And you're 100% right, adult friendships suck compared to highschool university ones... I'll always miss the free time I had lol.

If I had a 'friend' that I deemed my best friend, who doesn't call, doesn't text, and never even talks to you in the first place, I just don't know how that would fit my own definition of 'friend', never mind best friend.
