What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.

Grand Blue
Binging this and just started season 3. This is some over the top goofiness. It's a fun watch, mostly. I find the non-diver friends to be annoying, but funny at times. The rare moments of diving is really good. I don't have much to say, but I'm having fun watching it.
I recently started on the manga (having never seen the anime) and think I have a very similar reaction to it as you describe here. Nothing groundbreaking but a fun/silly read so far a few volumes in.

Demon Beasts Hunt | Chapter 1

In a world ravaged by demonic beasts, a pair of outlaws embarked on a quest to find the legendary 'Bakhmat' monster that began this whole catastrophy. One is a scholar who believes in the proper study of the beasts' natural behaviors in order for humanity to coexist with them while keeping a safe distance, another is a hunter who believes humanity is a part of nature and so must play by the same rule as them - 'kill or be killed'.
The contrast between the two leads is the most interesting part. They have different philosophies and opposing objectives but nevertheless still teamed up because of the shared destination and they needed the skillset of each other. Looking forward to their journey.

Transfer student challenges a school of delinquents to become top dog. Seems they lean into the trope and amp up the absurdity. As long as the fights are entertaining I'm in.

Only discovered this manga recently and I've been caught in its grip all week. A gothic master/servant fantasy mystery. Feels like someone's childhood imagination comes to life. There're palace intrigues as well as magical battles, but the emphasis is on solving problems with diplomacy and building interpersonal connections. The reveals surrounding the central mystery is quite well-paced as well. Can't stop reading!
I just learned that a sequel series to the prequel series of Battle Angel Alita, known as Panzer Kunst Chronicle, was released. For those not in the know, Battle Angel Alita, or Gunnm in the original, is a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk story about a cyborg girl (the titular Alita) found in a scrap heap by a cyber-doctor, Dr. Ido. Waking up without knowing who she is, over the course of the original story she relearns about the world, finds love, heartbreak, and learns more about herself.
The sequel series, Battle Angel Alita: Last Order, has her go beyond and confront her past, while showing just how much she is willing to sacrifice to get what she wants.
Following this up is a prequel series, telling the story of how Alita came to be, through the series Battle Angel Alita: Mars Chronicle.
The one I’m reading now is a sequel to that, Battle Angel Alita: Panzer Kunst Chronicle, and is only 3 chapters in so far, but appears to go through how she developed in her martial art. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the story goes from here as it’s been a fascinating journey thus far.
