Maybe someone is a fan up top, or the license was cheap?

I was kind of hoping you got the whole Crunchyroll catalog when you signed up with Max, but I guess not.

Oh, I was really hoping this would replace Crunchyroll. VRV has become really disappointing since Funimation left, I’ve been subbed for three years and it’s really degraded in quality. If they don’t add a full Crunchyroll or let you link a Crunchyroll account I’m just gonna save $3 a month and switch to only Crunchyroll.

Edit: I’m not actually sure how long I’ve been subscribed to VRV, but I know I subscribed around the time the service became available/sponsored by YouTubers.

VRV is hot trash. I subbed to it for 6 months and during that entire time their Roku app was completely broken. It would crash the entire Roku forcing it to reboot when trying to pull up shows from most menus. The only way to reliably use it was to click on shows after searching for them in the search function, because all other menus had this bug.

Whenever I reached out to their support, they told me it was a known issue that they were working on. which I have a hard time believing was actually the case.

I’ve had an overall bad experience with Roku as I bought a TCL Series 4 4K Tv with Roku on it and the thing reboots itself every few minutes, can hardly play games on it let alone watch Netflix or VRV! Also yeah, the service has a lot of bugs and issues that aren’t being fixed. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do phase it into HBO Max like I was hoping one day.

I have had a mediocre experience with them as well. I like the remote, but they don't offer the best video playback experience, most "apps" are barebones, 1/3 of the homescreen is a giant ad, and the box itself is very chatty with known analytics/tracking domains.

I replaced the Roku in my living room with an Apple TV last year, and recently did the same in my basement. I haven't looked back since.
