What have you been watching / reading this week? (Anime/Manga)
What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.
If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!
Over the last couple of weeks, I watched:
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.- Gag anime that I really enjoyed. Not really much to say about it, just that most of the jokes seemed to land pretty well with me. Would recommend
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai- I'm not really sure how to feel about this one, it was pretty interesting, although I'm not too sure about the ending. I think trying to scientifically justify everything using... quantum physics(?) was probably unnecessary, but that's a petty thing that bothered me. I'm not particularly interested in romance sto.ries, and while I enjoyed watching this, it doesn't exactly motivate me to go and seek out other romance stories.
Little Witch Academia- I quite liked this one, the animation was fun to watch, the setting was interesting, and most of the characters were unique. I blitzed through this one over about 2-3 days, and is also one I would probably recommend
I gave in and read AOT. Woah. If Isayama sticks the ending, it'll be legendary.
Apparently s4 will have ~30 episodes w no cour splitting.
Here are some anime I've watched lately. The open sections don't have spoilers, the closed ones do.
Tonikaku Kawaii (TONIKAWA: Over the Moon For You) episode 1
MAL
I liked the first episode. I'm a sucker for romance anime, but I dislike how often the relationships don't get developed (usually with the anime ending after the confession). The premise of this show solves that issue. The art is also great.
I feel like Nasa is misinterpreting his marriage. They touched on this when Nasa was surprised on how easy it is to get married, but I feel like he's interpreting this as they're a full blown married couple. Practically, they've only just gotten into a relationship. I don't Tsukasa's perspective on this though, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Also, why the heck did Tsukasa want to get married? There are many reasons to not propose to a 15 year old you just met, and then years later walk into his apartment to get married. I feel like she's from another world and needs to get married because magic or whatever. This may also tie in to how she was able to find his apartment.
Speaking of that, why did Nasa say yes? I know she is extremely cute, but he doesn't know her. He even gave up his goals to try to meet her again. This probably because of the genre, but why?
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou (Higurashi: When They Cry – Gou) episode 1
MAL
I like this. I prefer its art style over the original's. Apparently a plot point was revealed in the second episode instead being revealed later like it was in the original, so I'll hold off on watching this until there is more information if this is a remake or something else.
