What have you been watching / reading this week? (Anime/Manga)

What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.

If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!

I watched Serial Experiments Lain, which I had a fairly difficult time following. While I typically don't rewatch things, it's short enough and I think that I would appreciate a better understanding of what is actually happening. The show itself was really interesting, the art style is kind of cool, and I always find it kind of interesting to see how people thought about and made media about the early internet. It feels kind of like a window into a relatively recent past that I was busy not being alive for :p
Also I like Lain's bear suit

Neat, I haven't seen that yet. On a scale of powerpoint to OPM/Cowboy Bebop how good is the animation? (artstyle aside)

I just binged Plastic Memories yesterday, and I absolutely loved it. It is really, really sad, so be warned. At its core, its a story about loving someone who is terminally ill and making the most of the time you have with them. Its art style didn't strongly stand out to me as especially good or bad. The last episode is incredibly painful to watch; every moment is tinged with the suffering that will come the next morning. It has been a long time since I have been so moved by art, and it was nice to cry while listening to Erik Satie's Gymnopédies.
