I am totally in love with him and his inclusion definitely would have immediately gotten my attention, even more than it being from This American Life. ;)
p.s. That was absolutely fantastic. Thanks for sharing it!

It can still be moved to ~music if people think that's a better fit. But, I agree that either ~creative or ~music would be more appropriate than ~misc.
IMO despite having arts in the name, performing arts doesn't really fit the "Arts, crafts, and other DIY-ish things" description of ~creative, since the latter two imply a more user-driven OC...
IMO despite having arts in the name, performing arts doesn't really fit the "Arts, crafts, and other DIY-ish things" description of ~creative, since the latter two imply a more user-driven OC focused group. However not all performing arts fits ~music (e.g. plays, dance, etc) so there definitely seems to be a pretty big gap in the groups coverage. Perhaps creating an ~arts specifically for "the arts" (performing and visual) and merge ~creative with ~hobbies (which is seriously struggling for content anyways)? Or a more broad definition could be written for ~creative to specifically include the performing arts.
Regardless, I agree either ~creative or ~music is probably a better place than ~misc for this sort of content.
I have noticed this gap before. That's why I've been putting all art and arts related topics into ~creative, as the closest thing we have to an "arts" group, until a better home for them appears....

Maybe this is something to raise with Deimos directly, or as a suggestion in ~tildes.
Yeah, for now I guess ~creative is probably the best place for such topics even if they don't quite fit the description of the group. @Deimos can always chime in if he thinks otherwise.

First post here, so please excuse any faux pas. I just heard this one today and really loved it, so thought I would share.

It's generally considered better practice to use the titles from the source of the content you're posting - unless the title is very flawed or misleading. By encouraging people to use the source's own title, we leave less of an opening for (some) people to use the title to insert their own opinions, or to otherwise prevent the content from standing on its own merits.
It's not required to use the source's own title, but it should be the default position unless there's good reason to create a different title.

It's all good. @cfabbro isn't telling you off. She's just trying to help you find the best place for your post. She's helpful like that! :)

No worries, as Algernon said my intent was simply to help not criticize (and also open a discussion about where performing arts topics should be put in the future). And as for titles, there are not really any definitive rules but in general so long as the original isn't clickbait or heavily editorialized it's often best to just keep it as is. However providing additional context if you feel it's needed (so people can better understand what it's about) is definitely not discouraged either. Basically just try to use your best judgment and if you're unsure you can always ask around first. Also, if you make any mistakes don't worry too much since a bunch of us have the ability to edit titles so we can help you fix it if required. :)
Really well done, but also depressing.
Saw this when it came out, it is a really great piece and definitely my favorite part of that week's episode.
