The first one was basically just a contrived 80s videogame trivia saves the world + VR sci-fi story, which is enough for me, but might not work for everyone. If you're the sort to browse videogame trivia sites or read about glitches and easter eggs in games, then the book might land right for you, but if that's not your thing, then you might bounce off hard from the book.
