Conan (Dark Horse Comics). I'm at issue #20, The Tower of the Elephant. I've read a couple issues of Marvel's Conan (because of a meme...) and decided that it's horrible, so I thought—why not check out Dark Horse's? I hear it's very faithful to the original. Really good so far, beautiful art, and I'm very happy to have picked it up. So happy there's no strange wizard MDs / PhDs in it. It's a shame, however, it's episodic and it doesn't seem like Conan will be returning to previously visited lands. I'd like him to finish a few loose ends...

    Scott Pilgrim

This one's been on my to-read list since I saw the film more than a decade ago, and now I've finally got around to acquiring the first volume collection (out of three). It's very good! From what I've read so far, it seems the film was very faithful to the source material, except parts of the backstory that I assume were cut for time.

The Scott Pilgrim comics are amazing. They hold a special place in my heart because I grew up in Toronto while they were coming out and so they remind me deeply of home. Scott Pilgrim for me holds a snap shot of the world I grew up in but with more magic.

Without spoiling it, the ending is different. IIRC it's because the movie was being written before the final book.

Decades ago, I read Taboo #8 by Spiderbaby Grafix. It had some pretty experimental horror, including FROM HELL and LOST GIRLS by Alan Moore. I'm currently about the embark on the entire Taboo...

I recently read It's Lonely at the Center of the Earth by Zoe Thorogood.

While it probably won't become my favorite comic ever, It's certainly one of the comics that has made a huge impression on me and has helped to self reflect. It's not a comfortable read due to the topic, but it's wildly imaginative and uses the medium very well.
