The letter on the site explaining what took so long getting The Far Side online doesn't really make a lot of sense. It's a fun read, but idk doesn't make sense. Like he argues that finally computer screens can properly display his comics, but we've been there for at least 20 years now. And he mentioned a layer of security to keep people from stealing the comics, but it's really just the most basic prevention tactic ever made...blocking right click over images. Took me 10 seconds to pretend to steal the original (higher-res) images. The folks that would steal them to re-distribute them would know how to do it.
But anyway, I'm stoked to see his comics online. I've got a few of the books, but its been a while since I've read them because they're sitting in a box somewhere in my attic (and I dare not explore that dungeon)
Ok, it's the old stuff, with an ad for every two panels. I'm glad it's available, but it's a really uninspired presentation.
I think he'll be infrequently posting new stuff.
A kind soul in /r/TheFarSide made an RSS feed that might better suit your daily fix. :)
At least they aren't animated ads. Many websites are much worse.
True, but a low bar to clear.
