A desktop client is a small market with the glut of web-based email clients, but it's a very demanding set of users who want very specific features.
I'm glad they're not just rebranding it immediately, but working toward integrating it into the ecosystem slowly. Adding quality of life improvements, like adding account syncing between mobile and desktop, and having those in place before the rebranding, makes a lot of sense.
