I've been using K-9 Mail for a couple of years now, and honestly I hope they don't change it up too much. Calendar synching between desktop and mobile would be useful, though.

I think this is great. K-9 is a solid mobile client. Thunderbird is, for anyone who wants to use a desktop client for their personal email, the best option. A desktop client is a small market with the glut of web-based email clients, but it's a very demanding set of users who want very specific features.

I'm glad they're not just rebranding it immediately, but working toward integrating it into the ecosystem slowly. Adding quality of life improvements, like adding account syncing between mobile and desktop, and having those in place before the rebranding, makes a lot of sense.

Interesting. K-9 is a pretty good client, but one crucial feature I found that it's missing is recipient suggestion from history. Made me switch to FairEmail.
