I attached a link to the github. Another one claiming open source and ready to go is Saiddit. And there's also Tildes, and Lemmy. I tried all four platforms more than 3 times each, following every single install to the letter, and not one has successfully compiled. Do I just need to git gud?

Idk if it's just me or what but if anyome here has successfully pulled it off PLEASE comment. I have a bunch of VPS servers to play with and so I was trying to just get at least one single instance running. Lemmy seems to have gotten close but every error I solved just resulted in another error and it never compiled.

I've been able to run Tildes once, and it was complex and hard, and then I was never able to do it again. I've heard Kbin is rather stable and decent to run, better than Lemmy.

Part of why I wanted to have my own lemmy is to be the admin & not accidnetally get banned for breaking some arbitrary rule

I was interested in running tildes for setting up a local community. Didn't you noted every step you made?

If I were wise I would have done so, but I am not wise, so I did not.
