Favorite browser extension for keyboard shortcuts on webpages?

Like a Vim style thing which allows you to do stuff on websites you wouldn't normally be able to.

I use Tridactyl. It's not perfect, but it's still fairly new and has been improving steadily.

So, i have been an avid firefox fan for years, and had no idea until recently that these were an option. I only discovered the firefox extensions after discovering qutebrowser, and i've enjoyed qutebrowser so much i haven't been able to convince myself to switch back to firefox even after finding out all these things exist... If you haven't tried it, i would suggest it even if just as a novelty thing.

I have Vim Vixen installed. I like it but it's the first of these extensions I've tried so I can't compare it to any other options.

As an avid user of both Neovim and Qutebrowser, thank you for asking this question! I have a bit of a progression for you to try. My main recommendation is that you first try Qutebrowser. It's cross-platform and heavily integrated with Vim. It uses QtWebEngine as its backend which is based on Blink, the same backend as Chromium, but without the disgusting disregard for privacy. It's basically Vim if Vim was first conceptualized as a web browser instead of a text editor. It's the bee's knees, the cat's pajamas, and the best thing since sliced bread.

If after using Qutebrowser for a bit, you find yourself dissatisfied and you long for the fiery embrace of a certain fox, I recommend trying Tridactyl. It is, by far, the best Vim-like extension for Firefox. I have no idea why it isn't more popular given how much more Vimmy it is compared to the alternatives.

Anyhow, last of all, if Firefox doesn't do it for you, and you don't care about privacy, I recommend using Vimium. It's incredibly robust and Vimmy enough for most people. Additionally, it's the most popular Vim-like extension for a reason. While it isn't the best for Firefox, it's certainly the best for Chromium.

That's all I've got! I hope my suggestions help those of you looking for an answer to this question. If you end up trying any of my suggestions or you have any questions, leave a reply! I'm curious about what you have to say, and I'm happy to help.

I still have to try Surfingkeys at some point and the same goes for Qutebrowser. Even though I use (Neo)vim quite a lot, Qutebrowser might be a bit too extreme for me and I'm far too reliant on Chrome extensions.
