One thing I've found in exploring is a lot of feature overlap with Gnome 40, which honestly seems like a good sign.

heliostatic Thanks. I was surprised how affected I was. I've lost cats and dogs, so knew what that was like, but hoped chickens would be easier.Thanks. I was surprised how affected I was. I've lost cats and dogs, so knew what that was like, but hoped chickens would be easier.

Three bantams -- a silkie, mille fleur d'uccle, and brahma, and five standard -- easter egger, golden laced wyandotte, swedish flower hen, favacana, and a black copper maran.
All sweeties.

We have a small flock of 8, and in the last week, two of our three bantams have died. It's part of having pets (and chickens in particular), but it's really bumming me out.

They have a block button now! Your points are valid, but I think they are aware of the legacy they are inheriting, more than other platforms seem to be. The CEO has written cogently about their plan — and so far it is just a plan, not a reality: https://blueskyweb.xyz/blog/4-13-2023-moderation
I hope they are able to find a scalable approach to moderation. It’s not easy, and I’d argue no one has really done it without heavy community fragmentation and human intervention. Maybe those are ultimately necessary because of divergent normative views across communities, but there’s still a question of how large those individual communities can get.
