What creative projects have you been working on?
This topic is part of a series. It is meant to be a place for users to discuss creative projects they have been working on.

so a while back i stumbled onto the idea of this thing calledhypertext fiction but i kinda wrote it off as an interesting gimmick and forgot about it. but about a week ago i had an idea for a story about memory and racing thoughts that i think would benefit from the form. so i downloaded this program called twine that's specifically for writing these and i've been having a fucking ball learning how to put it together. eventually i want to be able to implement audio files and images and vid clips and just i'm really excited to see what it looks like at the end.
Hell yeah for hypertext fiction!
There are many ways to make it works. Personally, I find the Choice of Games games really fun to play: they offer branching narratives and RPG-style mechanics while still being plain-text. This being a curated collection, a lot of these are really good if you enjoy lots and lots of reading.
The games are made in ChoiceScript. Choice of Games even allow you to host your games on their site, which could be a profitable endeavor for you. (25% revenue is not something you can life off of consistently unless you make several popular games, but it's something.)
I've also been working on Twine games! You can build something simple without any code, but you can also get quite complex if you want. It's basically webdev with an internal coding language to shortcut for common JavaScript functions. Good luck and have fun with it! What will your first project be about?
I have been trying to get more into doing drawing studies and references. I enjoy art as a hobby and while I've certainly made progress over the years, I definitely have goals on where I want to be artistically. There's so many artists who just have such beautiful work and their understanding of anatomy and form and face are just so inspiring, I want to get to that point.
One thing I'm doing is going through a 21Draw course by Simone Grünewald https://www.instagram.com/schmoedraws/. I love, love, love her work and how her characters are so well integrated into the scenery. Her digital work has a traditional feel to it and that's something she has explicitly worked on cultivating. I really enjoy hearing about artists work flow and some of the things they do. I'm really also focusing on not being impatient and taking it at my own pace. Ultimately art is a hobby for me, so I don't have the time to focus on it as much as I might like, and it contends with other hobbies as well. I'm really looking forward to trying different things and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
I have been trying to get back into playing piano more now that I have a house with a music room. Currently working on The Maple Leaf Rag - currently on the third section, with 1, 2, and 4 being pretty passable. I used to play a lot of music, and then it sort of fell by the wayside for a while, so getting back into it has been great.
