I am trying to reboot my life and I started a blog that is supposed to be a lighthearted record of that - I hope it will be about moving to Spain, travel... now I write about past travel adventures.

I made my first YouTube clip (it has only 2 minutes) - my amateurish attempt to capture why I love cycling.

I live in a country where the winter is long, dark, and soul-crushing and these are about the joys of summer - I guess I need to remind myself that the sun will probably return. And I am writing a story about walking Camino del Salvador in Spain.

I built my wife a bench. A bench to outlast me.

We were given a ton of 4x4" hardwood, from a local pipe yard, where they use it as dunnage to stack between very heavy metal pipes. Its all oak and maple and brutally heavy stuff. Took three side by side lengths about 4' long and put matching legs underneath and then sanded it like mad, filled the gaps with super strong PL glue and then finished it with a sealant stain and put a little plaque on it for my wife. Its intended to be an outdoor bench but so far she's left it in the living room right beside her favorite chair so I guess that's a win.

This wood lasts for years outside even when its not protected, I fully expect the bench to last at least 40 years and its so dense, that even though its only 4' long, it weighs about 100 lbs. so no one's going to run off with it.

The way we always phrased this was, "if anyone can run off with it, I don't want to mess with them."

I've been slowly plunking away on a fictional city growth plan that related to a fictional city in an old Sega rpg. The goal is to learn Blender and become a better artist.

I just managed to get the 3D city to sit properly in geometry nodes and have a full page, content and layout outline done. Now, on to the art part!

Not currently working on anything - still kind of coming up short as to what my next project should be. Might be "Tits up!" from Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
