I have three tracks I've been mulling over that I need to finish. This is on my brain a lot since I haven't pushed a track to my Bandcamp at all in 2025 and I think that's the first time since I started making music I didn't release something for a whole year. Not sure what's blocking me on these tracks - something is blocking me on finishing things.

I've been designing and cobbling together a portable three-stage water filtration rig for my home. It uses pentek slim line filter housings and will be used for refilling 5-gallon water jugs. The design is portable because I don't want a dedicated countertop faucet for filtered water; I just want to be able to refill my water dispenser for less than the crazy price of $10-ish per jug. So I've built a vertical frame that hooks over the kitchen counter and connects into a tee below the sink. When disconnected and not in use, the rig can be stored in a closet. This might not be the type of "creative" project intended by this thread, but I have fun working through little design challenges like this, and a working result is very satisfying (and this one is thirst quenching too).

Any chance of a non-imgur link for us UK folk that can't be bothered to connect to a VPN?

Hmmm. What's a better host? I'm actually not a big fan of imgur myself, but it's the easiest I know of to just upload and link to. Here's a google drive link to the jpg, so this should work.

Thank you for that! I'll start using those. Might have to look into something that has an account so I can control the takedown of the image if I need to.

We are currently working on a cover of Alive With the Glory of Love to see how it sounds at an open mic.
I'm almost 40 and I have always been a guitarist but this is the first time I am singing.
I'm also going to go back to making TikTok Videos.
    I missed making video content

I've purchased a blue MA-1 jacket and am adorning it with NASA mission patches. To go with the meatball and shoulder flag, I've added STS-3 (the one launch I saw in person), and Apollo 1, STS-51, and STS-107, so this is mostly a memorial jacket to those astronauts we've lost.

All the patches are attached as of a few minutes ago, now I only have to close up the pockets / 'access hatches'.

Started 3D printing with translucent PETG. PETG is definitely a bit more finicky to work with but I'm close to the right settings finally and getting nice clean prints with only a small amount of "stringiness". Placed some initial prints atop some basic no-name LED light bases and they look pretty damn cool.

Finally today moved my music recs blog (which is semi-dormant) from bearblog to a static site, using nanuq. After a small amount of clean-up, the conversion and move is basically done. Took no time at all thanks to that tool. Wanted to host it with the rest of my extremely-low traffic sites on my free netlify account (though considering other low/no-cost hosts eventually) and get off of a blog platform and gain a bit more control over the site again and also stop throwing a few bucks a month at a site I'm barely updating. I lose a few small things (a bit of discoverability with bearblog's directories, some automated stuff) but I'm okay with the tradeoff.

Now I'm back to full control of the HTML/CSS and can have zero cookies instead of the one or two small ones bearblog uses. Even though zero people are doing this, I like the fact that a text-based terminal browser like Lynx can now visit my sites without even a single privacy/cookie prompt, etc. It's just a small joy that makes me happy.

I hope it's ok to double post because I have a few more projects I've taken on and don't have many people to tell.

So first, I ended up completely redoing the Dungeon Crawler CarL Samantha metal shirt. This time I did it completely by hand first, and adjusted a metal band font.

I am also thinking of getting a heat press for sublimation and DTF for shirt making. Do I need another ADHD hobby purchase that I will promise myself I'll one day monetize?

And lastly I've been helping a small Indigenous owned restaurant in Seattle with their branding and design. They remodeled for a couple months and they've lost a lot of business since they reopened. I'm also doing it completely free of charge with no strings attached and leveraging my contacts in printing to get them the best prices for printing.

I've worked with huge brands and licensing when in the entertainment industry, and also in the art department where we had to often convert entire restaurants and storefronts with fictional cleared branding, so I've got a lot of experience with that.

Anyways since the US isn't exactly something to be proud of right now, I've taken some conscious time to learn about the struggles of minorities, last thanksgiving I went to a cabin resort on native land with no wifi and just spent the weekend reading and hiking with no cell phone. It's given me a lot to think about and I definitely don't want to be part of the problems that these groups are faced with.
