I've been working on some kind of ambient track with guitars, there's some parts I like but it's a bit of a mess, I'm not sure if I want to give it up or try to save it.

Nice. If you enjoy ambient guitar works, check out Geotic's Morning Shore!

I signed up for an account on write.as and am privately importing some of my old blogs (by hand). I've always wanted to have a "place" for them since I've taken a lot of them down and they live only in badly copy/pasted "exports". Really though, the main reason I'm doing it because there's an extension that will export a blog to an ebook. I have long had the itch to compile my old blogs into ebooks -- for myself, not for distribution -- and, this looks like a great way of doing so.

Though I'm keeping my old stuff private, I do plan on having a public-facing blog through the site where I post things similar to what I post on Tildes here. Several members here have asked about whether I blog or encouraged me to do so, and while I haven't done it in years, revisiting my old blogs in order to import them makes me realize how valuable they are as a sort of personal historical record. I want to keep that going not just because I enjoy writing itself, but because it's a way of imprinting feelings and thoughts to be revisited far down the road. Plus, everyone here has been incredibly receptive to my style of writing, so I like the idea of being able to exercise that in a different form that goes beyond comments here on Tildes. Don't worry though, I'm not going anywhere -- you haven't gotten rid of me that easily! XD

Once I get that rolling, I'll make a post here with a link since everyone here would be my primary audience, but it probably won't be for a few weeks or so. I want to finish importing my old work first, and I have years of stuff to get through.

I'm trying to get back into 3D art after a very long break. I have a scene "planned"—we'll see how it goes, if it goes at all. So far, I have a render test of a glass of absinthe to show for it....

So far, I have a render test of a glass of absinthe to show for it. Literally everything about it is subject to change, but it's good enough to move on to the other scene components for now. That's from a few days ago, but everything done since then isn't worth sharing yet.
