It’s been slow going, writing a parody romance novel/adventure story. Working on any comedy that isn’t angry feels frivolous while civilization skis on the lip of a waterfall.

Writing a westernish book. I've been really vibing with that Red Dead Redemption, so I'm picking up some westerns to read :') So far I've only read True Grit but I just checked out a book called Frontier Grit by Marianne Monson. It's about women on the frontier so I'm also doing some research via books... Does research count as creative?

Also slowly and pathetically trying finish a crochet baby blanket. This thing is my nemesis and about 4 or so months overdue.

The first big project is helping my brother with restoring the doors in our parents’ apartment. Carefully stripping (literally!) hundred of years of paint from grooved frames and doors, oiling the wood, and finally several coats of oil paint.

The other big project is helping him with making a bike ramp for the stairs out of oak. He’s a bit of a perfectionist, so it’s a long process, but the results will be great.

Two smaller projects I’m planning are just in part related, but also somewhat techie. A few months ago I got a Keyboard.io Model 01.

The first one is that I’m creating an ergonomic keyboard layout (based on Neo, but with different languages in mind).

The second one is still in planning phase, but I intend to sand off the lacquer from its maple casing, do some wood carving and then coat it with (boiled) linseed oil and amber or garnet shellac.

I think once it’s done the keyboard should provide a good visual bridge between my fin de siècle office chair and the laptop, while also having some arcane flair of its own. I already changed the keycaps for the Linear A script.
