    Looks like the organisation behind this (Glimpse? CATS? It's not super clear) no longer exists, sadly. Which is a shame, I like what they were about. The idea of hijacking advertising space for something designed just to make people smile is really sweet.

      From what I was able to gather, it appeared the organization (GLIMPSE) was aimed at rethinking how advertisements were presented - the goal being rather lofty to make ads more focused on the general happiness or health of the consumer or spreading good ideas.

      Unfortunately, I just don't see how that's profitable or really any different than what modern companies often do, such as donating large amounts of money to good causes to afford them good PR, rather than doing it because they actually care about cleaning up the environment or civil rights or providing services for poor children in other countries.

      Still, I think it's a testament to human will that they were able to overpower the collective corporate will, even if it was only for a day and in an isolated location.
