In short, glitter companies are actually precision cutting companies, precision cutting companies make lots of things, one of which is apparently radar chaff. Just because a glitter company makes radar chaff doesn't mean that radar chaff is glitter. Diversification and companies that specialize in a technique and not a product is lost on most of the populace. Plus "THIS ONE THING IS ACTUALLY GLITTER" grabs more clicks than "Company that does X also does Y"

Glitter was invented when the US Gov't needed precision cut washers made out of mica, the waste product of this cutting was iridescent flakes that became the decorative item known as glitter.

This is a newspaper clipping which states that Henry Ruschmann helped in the Manhattan Project.

The linked YouTube video includes an interview with Henry Ruschmann Jr., who says his father was commissioned by the US government to fabricate a washer for use in the atomic bomb.

I love seeing seemingly completely different products having a shared history though being accidents or byproducts of something else.

I also love how the video presents everything yet still cautions against drawing set conclusions.

I absolutely loved this video when I saw it a few weeks ago! Such an interesting take on a everyday item that I thought was just for looking cute at music festivals and children's art projects. To know there is some underbelly to the glitter world made this a top tier internet era conspiracy imo. Sad they never got a truly definitive answer to their question tho...
