Why not? Its way better than any options. If you are worried about radiation, you'd be surprised how much radiation is released by burning peat and coal etc. In a nuclear power station the radiation levels and leaks are highly controlled and supervised. In other kinds of power plants its just flying out of the chimneys or gets stuck on the ashes.
As anecdote, some decades ago they remade the peat burning furnace of Naistenlahti, the metals of the old furnace were sold to russia but the russian customs stopped the transfer at the border because of high radiation. They were taken to Tarastejärvi to sit in the rain for a few months so most of the radiation washed away and then they took them to russia.
So yeah, I'd rather have a nuclear power plant where they have a close eye on the levels, rather than ruining bogs and burning stuff.

We should push it everywhere until more sustainable power sources are available. Renewables in their current state are insufficient
