As a Canadian, I am sorely tempted to add "US" to every headline that mentions an American governmental body on Tildes, since US-centrism on social media kinda pisses me off and I don't think topic tags alone suffice. However, despite my gripe, I don't know how well me doing that to every title would be appreciated here. :P

American here! I fully support country-level specificity in article headlines. It makes it clearer for everyone, especially on a site like Tildes which has a global audience. It also counteracts the America-as-default bias that's common online.
Tags are useful for categorization, but they're not all displayed in the main feed, so country visibility in titles (where it's not already obvious from context) is the best solution, IMO.
Well that makes me a feel a little better. Thanks for the encouragement. Next time I see a US-centric title I will take a crack at internationalizing it. ;)

The American Chestnut Blight is one of the saddest ecological disasters in recent history. Growing up in Appalachia I always wish I could have seen what the forests were like when my great grandparents lived there.
