Thank you so much for pointing that out - I spent all of today glued to my phone reading #9, which is really more of a novel than anything else. Not sure how this came to be on some random law page, but my week has been improved considerably for it! What a touching story of age, guilt, responsibility and closure.

It's really weirdly placed, but an enjoyable read nonetheless. I'd love to know the story behind the story, how it got there.

These articles feel like a beautiful twist on that concept. Not having looked at the datestamps or other articles, I assumed reading the one post that the firm had a blog already, and the lawyers decided to have fun with the platform.

This is great. The acid test story actually caused me to reach out to my own lawyers about a fee-paying clause in our own contract (I am currently in negotiation with some VCs). So, thanks for...

Also, the ordering of the articles is a tad funny. It's one of those things you'd expect from a family law office or small dentist's website. Heh.

I worked for a non profit for awhile and I never had hard proof, but our bookkeeper/accountant turned out to be somewhat sketchy and I suspect, an embezzeler. And she was indeed, as the article says, a very nice person.

The first clue turned out to be that she would take some of her lunches to go play bingo at the local hall. Which doesn't inspire confidence for someone in charge of not taking risks with donated money. Then it got even murkier when she tried to convince more than one staff member to join her in buying small gold coins online. They were supposedly fairly priced and "bound" to go up in value... hmm... what does gambling on online gold say about one's financial acuity? Definitely not confidence inspiring.

Don't know what happened in the privacy of the CEO's office, but I do know that she was let go a few months later and only the board knows the whole story.
