I grew up with both of my parents smoking and I hate the smell of smoke so much. I find it infuriating whenever I am sitting at home and I have to smell it, or sitting at a restaurant and some other people finished their meal and started smoking.

Also the fact that this is literally causing respiratory issues to people just for standing near a smoker is somehow a non issue for most.

I don’t know how bad e cigarettes are, as long as they don’t smell as bad (they don’t as far as I know) and they are not damaging to others, I don’t mind if people want to smoke them. I doubt it’s going to stop in 10-15 years but I’d be happy to be proven wrong

As a former smoker and current e-cig user, I'm going to be blunt: they're fucking disgusting. They have a stench like stale tobacco and cat piss, they don't taste much better, are kind of expensive, and seem to be being used as the cudgel to ban actual e-cig sales. I'm going to be an incredibly unhappy man if they become our only nicotine option.

EDIT: As far as the smell thing too, I think IQOS is the worst of both worlds. E-cig scent doesn't linger long unless someone is cloud chasing with some large fancy box mod, and the IQOS scent is literally worse than even the smell of old cigarette smoke on someone, plus it lingers and soaks in like smoke scent does.

Huh... ok so I wonder how they intend to diversify outwards - I mean the e-cigarette industry is in a freefall after years of a combined effort of anti-smoking and cigarette companies blackballing it. I just don't see how a switch will be possible at all since this combined effort has made the idea of them seem as absolutely worse (smokers here switched back to cigarettes because they where informed by newspapers, politicians, anti-smoking organisations etc that e-cigarettes was just as bad or worse).

I mean I hope it will somehow shift - but at this point I can't see how (I mean although saying that, journalism these last 20 years have turned in to just a repeat-quote-machine so they could probably spin on a dime).

But I expect a black market to grow quick AF.

EDIT: not to mention the fact that e-cigarettes are waaaaay out of the control of cigarette companies and most of them are handled by smaller companies or mom-and-pop-shops (although those are being quickly removed due to above effects - few can afford being in business)
