Back in May, I visited York. There was never a Great Fire of York, so one of the things the city is known for is its many crooked old wood buildings. Most famous are probably The Shambles and the Merchant Adventurers' Hall, but another eye-catching ones is this gin store. I obviously had to go inside and do some tasting, ended up buying the Grey Lady, but that's not what this post is about.

I have a soft spot for weird jams, so I bought a jar of York Gin Rhubarb & Raspberry Jam. Yesterday I finally decided to open it and try it, and turns out it is so damn good! Seriously, if you're ever in York, make sure you stop by York Gin and get a jar of their raspberry jam.

Next time I'm going to make the donuts smaller, the suggested size was way to large for my tastes, so instead of cutting the dought into 9, I'll try cutting into 12 and see how they come out.

I know Lagerstrom spent a lot of time in bakeries as well as restaurants, but for some reason I’ve always hesitated to attempt any of his baking recipes.

Every single non-baking recipe of his I’ve ever done has been an absolute hitter, so there’s no reason for me to feel this way. Maybe this comment is the inspiration I need to give it a shot. Homemade donuts sound so good!

If you do try them let me know how they turn out. I will admit that I didn't scald the milk like he says we should due to time pressure, and didn't notice anything go particularly wrong. So if you...

I will admit that I didn't scald the milk like he says we should due to time pressure, and didn't notice anything go particularly wrong. So if you have a go and do follow that step I'd be interested in how it works for you.
