An amusing watch - lots of added dramatization and whatnot, but the pokemon community is really good at figuring out how the games work and decompiling old games and figuring out the exact seed...

Its pretty cool to see it used to resurrect someone's childhood pokemon.

It should have been a much shorter video. I skipped around a lot. Still good content, though.

That's awesome. It did remind me of the pain I felt many, many years later after I traded in my Pokémon Yellow Version cart in middle or high school at some point. "I'll never want or need this...

That's awesome. It did remind me of the pain I felt many, many years later after I traded in my Pokémon Yellow Version cart in middle or high school at some point. "I'll never want or need this again!" – boy was I wrong on that. I'd give almost anything to get my OG fat Pikachu back. 😢 Got me through a lot of abuse and other stuff as a kid. So did the show.

Something I did finally get around to archiving, though, was the shiny Mudkip I spent over 5 straight hours biking back-and-forth in front of the daycare in Emerald for! I'm pretty sure it's the only shiny I've ever gotten (I didn't really play Pokémon past Gen III; played a tiny bit of Gen IV). Anyway, ordering all the hardware to perform the backup was a little tedious, especially since that was done in within the last 2 years... 😅 Worth it, though, I think. Nice for my little guy to be immortalized in my many backups of my personal data. :)

If anyone wants to see said shiny Mudkip, here's 4 screenshots: box, info, skills, moves.
