Only downside is I would prefer these SMRPG be available on other platforms (EDIT: Star Ocean will be!) as I don't see myself buying into the Nintendo ecosystem anytime soon- this sure makes it more convincing to do so than it's ever been, though, company culture aside
(please do not reply to this comment with ways to 'work around' this limitation, etc- I am aware and whether or not I agree or disagree with those methods, I noticed those conversations being removed on the SMRPG topic and likely for good reason, so I'd prefer not to be involved in discussion about them)
The Star Ocean game is coming to PSN and PC as well at the very least. It appears there will be physical releases as well on the Switch, PS4, and PS5. I'm a sucker for physical releases so that I...

Oh, that's on me then for assuming stuff in a Nintendo announcement would be exclusive, but it makes sense for Star Ocean not to be as its not a Nintendo IP I suppose, I jumped the gun a bit on...

I feel a bit ignorant for not doing my due research before posting (so easy to do this these days... very guilty). Updated my original post for accuracy.
Yeah, a week ago neither game was on my possibility radar, so this is a really nice surprise for me! Now I'm just waiting for a full remake of Sonic Dark Brotherhood (absolutely never going to...

Now I'm just waiting for a full remake of Sonic Dark Brotherhood (absolutely never going to happen), and then I don't have new games ever again.
We are getting some top notch remakes in the last couple of years, some that I never thought I would see the light of day(some of the niche Nippon Ichi games coming to PC has been a treat). I am...

Wow, this looks a lot better than their last Star Ocean remake. Honestly I just wish they had gone all-out on 3D character models because those 2D sprites really clash with everything. Or maybe...

As a long-time Tri-Ace fan, I will probably pick this up (though I'll probably wait for a PC port - they've been pretty good with those recently), but I am still wishing for something more original from them would come to the US market.
I don't like how Square Enix made everything look like this is a proper full HD remake, apart from the character sprites. It looks like a shitty imitation of what they did with Live A Live and...

I really hope that the rumored Chrono Trigger remake doesn't go down this path too...
I've been waiting for a remake for this game for so long. Finally newer players will be able to experience this masterpiece of an RPG!
