Microsoft will be raising the price of the Xbox Series X on August 1. If you live in the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, or Colombia, the console will stay the same price. However, the cost will be bumped up everywhere else.
While the US was spared from a console price increase, it wasn’t spared from a Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate price bump. Currently, GamePass for Console and GamePass Ultimate cost $9.99 and $14.99 per month, respectively. GamePass for console will see a $1 increase to $10.99 (€10.99/£8.99), while GamePass Ultimate will be $2 more expensive at $16.99 (€14.99/£12.99). GamePass for PC is reportedly staying at the same price.

For their next big game Starfield, they are now giving 5 day early access with the premium edition bundle. This might help them not loose too many pre-order and day one sales, also people can upgrade to this version if they bought other versions.
Xbox has to find a way to balance the pre-order/day one sales whiile including the game day one on GamePass. The gamepass version also gets all pre-orfer benefits if your subscription was started before the release and thats good on their part.

Agreed it was always gonna increase. We're somewhat fortunate in South Africa that gamepass went up by less than a dollar. In fact if I didn't see the articles the price is so small I wouldn't...

That being said I'm on a bit of a games burnout at the moment so I let mine expire until I finish stuff like Tears of the kingdom. Also the choice paralysis sometimes with gamepass is real.
