Unsure how much reception this will get, but it's a nuance that wasn't brought up in the chat or by the commentators, so I figured a brief talk about it here might interest some folks. In melee...

In melee you normally wavedash to do micro spacing. You air dodge into the ground and it causes you to slide. You can do it at over 100 angles for each direction, left or right, allowing for tons of nifty spacing mixups.. There's 10 frames of lag after performing it, but it's generally worth it.
In this instance, Plup is in the corner, and being the absolutely cracked player he is, he uses several tilt analog inputs, initiating a walk over and over to space...
There's no lag from a walk, and you can act out of it with anything at any point. It's strictly better in most situations. It's generally reserved to disrespect people in neutral cause it's so hard to do, but that's clearly not the case here.
The way he holds the analog, with his index and thumb finger (middle finger on the trigger), allows him to do this pretty freely. It's not easy to do this and not get a dash. He can apply resistance with his index finger though. Most people don't use two fingers on the analog.
Anyway, the dude could've just wavedashed, but instead he decided to spam inputs just outside the dead zone to gain a little bit of stage positioning... Absolutely nuts neutral game.
That one didn't work either. It redirected to twitch.tv/clip/ with nothing else afterwards. Although weirdly, now the original one you submitted is working for me. So I genuinely have no idea...

Melee is a beautiful game. I don't watch as much esports live as I used to, but I'll still check on Melee every once in a while and it's just mindblowing the level that today's players have pushed...

New techniques are still being discovered 20 years later, and the tier list is still VERY contentious. There's not much more you can ask for. The games just keeps on giving lol.

It's not just the technicality of it that I love, though - it's the fact that Melee can be genuinely expressive. Looking at the way that different players play the same character, or even the way...

It ALL boils down to the movement. It's so beautiful and you're totally right.. I can go on and on. The amount of techniques do allow the players the ability to utilize unique sets of options...

I can go on and on. The amount of techniques do allow the players the ability to utilize unique sets of options though, which is why you're so easily able to tell players apart just by seeing them play.
Also the execution barrier makes it clear when someone is truly fluent in the language or the dance of the game. A sight to behold without a doubt.

Did the clip get deleted? When I click the submitted link, it redirects to the main twitch.tv base site now.
Works as intended for me :\
