I don't know much about fighting games so I'd be interested to hear about what people on Tildes think about this.

I know about the characters though, for example it's interesting that Ekko can knock his temporal grenade further (seen in full match video).

    Champions shown in the video:

That said, it does look pretty interesting so far, and more importantly, ambitious. There's this "balance by spreadsheet" approach that makes any game unfun, and it seems they aren't going to be doing that. Options are strong and character movesets are creative. The fact they're, so far, sticking with RT's lowering the barrier to entry (special moves are just a button) is another major positive. I'm a huge FG fan and love grinding out ranked, but motion inputs are way overhyped (they do serve a purpose to some extent though, it's a nuanced thing).

Overall, i'm hoping this is a good thing because I suspect it'll be popular no matter what. I am worried it's going to introduce really gross business practices to the genre. SFxT died miserably despite being an ok game because it was one of the first to lean towards MTX's in a fighting game, and the community soundly rejected it. I really really hope riot isn't about to show everyone that their playerbase is fine with it and introduce paying for power into one of the few genre's left that doesn't.

Paying for power = pay to win? So far none of Riot's games have pay to win. It's always cosmetics for skins or emotes. They pride themselves on that.

The duo play feature seems fun. Hopefully there is some sort of like emote system that only your partner can see to make switching in and out easier. Being able to ping your partner that you are going to switch or burst seems pretty big. My only other real complaint is that the game still seems really unfinished. I was kinda hoping for a 2024 release date, but I don't know if that's actually gonna happen or not.
