I'm pretty excited for mk1 at this point. It's a return to Mk9 style nonsense with a side of tag. After how anemic 11 felt, I'm glad we're getting back to just letting the characters rock. I hope they can thread the balance needle on this, but even if not it should be way more fun casually.
And as an aside, holy hell is it a good time to be an FG fan. After a lull during the SFV era (some hidden gems but it's been awhile since we've gotten something major) we've got great entries in GG/SF, with Tekken and MK coming up, and a bunch of 3rd party stuff that looks wild.

Ugh, definitely so. For a while there, I felt like it was really platform fighters that proliferated (some awesome contenders, I liked NASB myself but that was a bit of a bubble). Now, we have SF6, Tekken 8, and MK1 as the heavy hitters once again, and a bit closer to my heart, Marvel 2 and 3 are having a renaissance. We're on an uptick again -- '23 is the new '09.
My boyfriend is in the room and commented that, "whatever you are listening to just sounds like wet meat slapping sounds".
