Weekly game deals megathread: 1 October 2023
Add awesome game deals to this topic as they come up over the course of the week!
Alternately, ask about a given game deal if you want the community’s opinions: e.g. “What games from this bundle are most worth my attention?”

- Each deal must include a short statement of why you think the game/games are worthwhile, or a question to the community about the game/games

Based on some discussion here, I decided to try out a new game deals topic.
If you have any thoughts on the format, rules, or cycle (e.g. weekly vs. monthly), let me know.
I added a rule about giving a statement about the game to keep comments from being just plain deal listings. I think it’s more in the spirit of Tildes that we talk up the games rather than just notify people of the sale itself.
I thought about doing it monthly instead of weekly, but my worry is that the topic would be full of mostly out-of-date deals by the end of a given month. I figure we can try out weekly to start.
One question I have is whether we should have a specific tag that’s individual to these threads so that people can block them if they want? Right now I’m marking it with
saleanddeals, and I could see someone not wanting to see recurring posts like this one but still want the standout individual deals/sales that get posted as their own thing. Pinging Tildes Tag Lord @mycketforvirrad on this one specifically!Anyway, feel free to give me any of your meta thoughts on the topic type here. This is a work in progress, and I want it to work for what people here want!
I like the use of
saleanddealstags. But if you also wanted to separate this megathread out further, it could get a name liketv tuesdaysormidweek moviethat would help with making a distinctive tag name.
