One thing I love about Mario Odyssey speedrunning at least is that you can learn and practice some of the techniques in casual playthroughs as well, I loved learning how to cap jump. Sadly for Wonder it doesn't seem to have that many different new techniques, it seems.
It is so fun to see the optimizations and all that though. Even saving a couple of seconds gets you on that leaderboard, going from 2:20ish to 1:40ish is incredible for a week of gaming.
