Sorry for linking to the super trashy Daily Star, but it's the only major source I could find reporting on this so far. If someone finds a better link, and lets me know about it, I will happily replace it.
If they're the only ones reporting on it, then I suspect the outrage is largely manufactured. This just looks like a cheap asset flip trying to meme it's way to some level of notoriety.

The game was only published earlier today. They're not the only ones who noticed it though, just the first to actually report on it. It's been making the rounds on various gaming forums, Discord/Slack channels (which is where I found out about it), and the Steam community forums also have a bunch of complaints and calls to report the game to Valve. So it's not entirely manufactured outrage on the part of Daily Star, although this sort of thing is likely exactly what the gamedevs were hoping for.
Edit: Gizmodo has now reported on it, so I changed the link to that one instead.
I think its the only source reporting on it because there isn't much to report on? An asset-flip company made an game with an "edgy" premise to get some shock value sales. The article saying it...

An asset-flip company made an game with an "edgy" premise to get some shock value sales. The article saying it "shocks gamers" is stretching the few steam reviews and twitter posts.

I'm surprised to see a Steam game even generate enough outrage to warrant a tabloid article, considering what gets published on that storefront since Valve dropped all QC. There's at least one game that promises showering with and fucking Stalin on a space station, and another called Last Anime Boy: Saving Loli, which advertises shooting "Nazi Muslims" as a feature. It's literally worse, last time I checked, than the Google Play store.

The QAnon Anonymous podcast recently talked about this, if anyone’s interested.
