He also did one on "Dancing Mad" from FFVI (one of my all time favorite tracks in the franchise), and I love the way that this is phrased:
If you have a chance, you should attend a Distant Worlds concert. Uematsu has an expanded FFVI opera and it is really fantastic to experience in person.
I figured this works better in ~games than ~music, but if you want to switch it go ahead.
This top comment entirely encapsulates how I feel:
Edit (side note): I love how "bass face" is universal for all types of music enthusiasts.
Nobou also has a live metal band that mostly plays Final Fantasy music (can you call them covers if he wrote them? lol)
Here is a live concert, that is just incredible.
Some people have so so much ambition to realize their ideas. Amazing man
I had the pleasure of seeing a Distant Worlds concert recently. They did a One Winged Angel sing-along at the end. I was worried this late in the game that the setlist would be scraping the bottom of the barrel, but it was good! They had a video going behind the orchestra of various clips across the franchise. It felt a bit silly during one of the FF7 themes and they just had a talky dialogue scene going without any subtitles... but later they did the scene from The Honey Bee Inn and that was an excellent inclusion. All in all great time, I'd wanted to attend one for a long time and glad I finally got to.
I was at one of those concerts, too, as well as another Final Fantasy piano concert a while back. I honestly hate the video displays that they do during them. They actually take me out of the music. Though I would agree that I did appreciate it for the Honey Bee song, since I hadn't played the remake (and don't plan to, if we're being honest here).
