I found them giving me so much ammo and throwing so many enemies at me extremely frustrating considering I really enjoyed the slower paced combat and the ammo conservation of the base game.

Haven’t played AW2 yet, but this reminds me of the first game’s DLCs. I distinctly remember the first game having serviceable-but-not-great combat, which the DLC promptly doubled down on to such a degree it became obnoxiously annoying. Shame to hear they might be repeating that mistake.
Honestly, I can’t think of hardly any game series which has managed to pace DLCs well. Remedy has the issue in both AW1 and Control from what I’ve seen, but they’re hardly alone. Most games end up feeling too fast.
