Interesting art style! Hopefully the combat holds up. Looks like there will be a demo available on Steam on Monday Jan 20th.

I've seen, but not played, the developer's other game, Mind Scanners - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1389550/Mind_Scanners/ - and I have many a game from publisher 11bit.

There's nothing inherently antithetical about those two terms, but I agree that they're being used inappropriately here. It's like Dark Souls in vibe, not in gameplay, and that's not what...

The way we see it, Death Howl has plenty of soulslike elements and we hope you see that once you get a chance to play the demo (going live today at 6PM UTC!). To name a few, you rest/refill your health at circles of power that respawn all the enemies on the map, you need to spend Death Howls (you can say these are souls of your enemies) to craft new, powerful cards and, once you rest, unused Death Howls are lost. You also meet various enemy types that you have to learn the patterns of in order to survive with more health (and not be forced to used the circles of power) and so on! We understand it's not clear from the trailer alone, so we hope the game will speak for itself 🤎and your feedback is crucial for us to know whether the way we perceive the game lands with the community - looking forward to your demo feedback!
