Yeah, I felt similarly. Like, it can be difficult to nail timing in a standard skateboarding game like Skate or THPS, I can't imagine trying with the blur effects, shaky cam, epilepsy inducing...

Like, it can be difficult to nail timing in a standard skateboarding game like Skate or THPS, I can't imagine trying with the blur effects, shaky cam, epilepsy inducing character skin, and slow motion timing changes. I think it looks cool, but boy does it look hard to play. It made me wonder if the developers actually skate, though it's not like the Neversoft team did.
It looks like the creative brain behind the game, Sam Eng, does skate - but considering this is supported by Chanel and Next Prize - I'd guess it's art over function. All that said, I'll definitely try it when it comes out!

Skate Story rolls onto PS5 later this year.
Ollie, kickflip, and grind your way through the ash and smoke of the Underworld as you take on a seemingly impossible quest. Skate fast to destroy demons and save other tortured souls on your journey from a fragile beginner to a hardened skater.
