The story is pretty terribly written and the RNG based equipment drop system just plain sucks, making you grind and grind to get minor improvements in gear to grind and grind further as the second half of the game is an utter slog of high HP enemies. It's the "We have Armored Core at home" game.
I strongly suggest you pass on it.

Also worth noting that as of today, July 1st, the Humble Choice price increased to $14.99 per month, up from $11.99.

Currency Monthly Rate (Old / New) Annual Rate (Old / New)
    GBP £8.99 / £11.49 £98 / £119.99
    EUR €12.99 / €12.99 €109 / € 134.99
    USD $11.99 / $14.99 $129 / $154.99
    CAD CA$17.99 / CA$17.99 CA$159 / CA$194.99
    AUD AU$16.95 / AU$20.95 AU$179 / AU$219.95

It's interesting to me how different experiences can be.

I've been a Humble Choice subscriber for a number of years, and in December I decided to give it "one last year" because I had felt like it just wasn't really worth it. Then this year has turned me around and I've been very happy with the games I've received. through the bundles. I've played more games from these bundles than any other year, and we're only halfway through, and I'll probably play more.

      • January: Against the Storm, Beneath Oresa, Boxes, Dodogne, Blasphemous 2
      • February: Tales & Tactics, Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master, Griftlands, Fabledom
      • March: Pacific Drive
      • April: Dredge, Diplomacy is not an Option, Nomad Survival
      • May: The Thaumaturge

Some of these were already wishlisted for me (Tales & Tactics, Blasphemous 2) and some were just delightful surprises (Dredge, Nomad Survival, Beneath Oresa, Against the Storm). The rest were all generally worth the price of admission, to me, and I think there are several more that I'm looking forward to - Amnesia: The Bunker, Shadow Gambit, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Sir Whoopass, Wild Hearts.

And this month, I'm probably going to immediately install Blanc and Death's Door almost immediately just based on their art, and I think that Neo Cab and Cat Quest 3 will probably get installed by one of my kids.

I'm not in disagreement, nor am I trying to convince you to give these a go or anything. It's just interesting to me that we can have such different experiences with the game choices and the selection. For you, the game choices aren't really working, and for me they're making me reconsider this being my last year of Humble Choice.

I did redeem three months but skipped five:

        • April 2025 for which I tried a played: Nova Lands (which I feel is a weaker version of Forager), Nomad Survival (which turned out not to be my cup of tea versus Brotato) and Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered (I preferred the memories to reality).
        • January 2025 for which I played Beneath Oresa (but I feel the 3D graphics add noise and it's more confusing to follow than Slay the Spire) and a bit of Against the Storm on Steam Deck (which I do plan to play properly at some point with a mouse and keyboard now that I have a modern PC).
        • December 2024 for which I started Moonstone Island on Steam Deck. This seemed really interesting but due to limited time I put it aside.

But last year I purchased two months in a row before subscribing:

        • November 2024 in which I played Persona 4 Golden (but parked due to how dated the dungeon system is compared to Persona 5). I do plan to play Cassette Beasts, The Lamplighters League and The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales but at the time I only had a Steam Deck and a very, very dated PC.
        • October 2024 from which I played and loved Jack Move, Dome Keeper and Persona 5 Strikers on Steam Deck.

As for May 2025 (The Thaumaturge) and June 2025 (Dungeons of Hinterberg):

        • The Thaumaturge looked great but I was being realistic in that I'd never get around to playing it
        • Dungeons of Hinterberg is absolutely amazing but I already played through it on Game Pass. Despite that I almost redeemed June 2025 in order to get a copy of Dungeons of Hinterberg to keep but again I'd never realistically play it again. I'm still a lot uneasy that I skipped it because from a game design perspective I think that Dungeons of Hinterberg is almost perfect and I'm a huge game design nerd.

I was really considering Rogue Trader recently, based on things I've seen and read about it. Looks like this is a pretty opportunity for me, then!

Not really long (5 hours maybe...?) and absolutely not re-playable because of the twists of the story... and that is quite sad because you won't be able to talk to everyone just in one run.

Anyway... it's 2 euros in steam right now. At that price I absolutely recommend it. Inside the full batch of the humble bundle... I dunno.
