Has this been a project for awhile? It's scratching a familiarity itch in my brain and I'm not quite sure why. I don't really keep up with gaming news but maybe I heard of this around the bend?...

Anyway I like the Commands & Conquer vibes it's giving off and the terrain deformation is certainly a cool feature to add to classic isometric style RTS.
Too bad there isn't an easy way to port that feature to other game engines - Total Annihilation would be a lot cooler with literal total annihilation of the maps. Make the wasteland even more inhospitable in Fallout 2. Actual craters formed after flinging your test rides into oblivion in Roller Coaster Tycoon. Expand the various AD&D titles.
I remember Red Faction being one of the first 3D titles I played with basically unlimited terrain deformation and it blew my mind - this could be equivalent for 2.5D isometric, I'll be keeping an eye on it!

It would also be cool to see how this plays out in terms of cover or defensive bonuses for infantry/tanks in ditches, similar to Company of Heroes or, if bullets only damage on hit, the Men of War series.
Sounds neat with the logistical aspects and multi-weapon aspects of the units. I'll buy it if it ever makes it out the door. I have felt pretty fundamentally disappointed with every RTS that's...

I have felt pretty fundamentally disappointed with every RTS that's come out the door since the original C&C/RA. Not that I've played a ton of them, but I bought Act of Aggression and it was pretty meh and then last year I picked-up Tempest Rising, which was better, but I ultimately fell off of after 10 or so hours. The only "recent" RTS game I stuck with was the rerelease of the original C&C/RA back in 2020, which I've put well over 100-hours into and still regularly go back and play.
Nothing else has really scratched the itch for me, though Dorf looks pretty interesting.
You say Dorf and my brain goes immediately to two places: Dorfromantik, a puzzle game I've played many many times. It's hexagonal tile-placing game, very soothing and relaxing, haven't played it...

Dorf the character by the late Tim Conway.
In any case, this does look very interesting. Old school as hell, too. I pretty much never play RTS because they're just too intricate in way I somehow don't enjoy, but this might be a fresh new take.
An interesting idea: an isometric, sprite-based game that supports terrain deformation and lighting. As you can see in the trailer, there are 3 asymmetric factions with 3 different resources: ore,...

As you can see in the trailer, there are 3 asymmetric factions with 3 different resources: ore, oil and scrap. I really love the art style and animation; hopefully the gameplay and mechanics will live up to the potential!
With pseudo-3D graphics? With a Max Max mutant stand-in for the Zerg? And the Protoss stand-in armed with the future tank from the Terminator? This looks incredible. Y'all should watch the video....

This looks incredible. Y'all should watch the video. This looks like nothing short of retro wish fulfillment. This game has been developed for such a long time; hope its successful Kickstarter will propel it to the finish line soon.
