I have been waiting for this sequel for over 7 years now (only 6 if you count the expansion for the first game).
The original is still one of my all time favorite turn based strategy games. The story was well written dystopian cyberpunk, the gameplay incredibly challenging and the mechanics incredibly polished and satisfying. The multiplayer was pretty badass too, especially since it allowed for asynchronous play, which works incredibly well for a small indie game since not everyone needs to be logged in at the same time to play together. I highly recommend people pick up the first game if they haven't played it and like cyberpunk / turn-based tactical strategy games. The expansion is pretty solid too.
Here's hoping Frozen Synapse 2 follows suit. This gameplay preview leads me to believe they have though, and maybe even improved on the formula, so now I a doubly excited for its release!
p.s. Whatever you do, don't get Frozen Synapse Prime! It's not by the original developer and is just a PS Vita port of the original game that they then ported back to PC for whatever reason. The "realistic" re-texturing job they did for it also completely ruins the beautiful aesthetic of the original game, IMO.
