Is it? That's a lot of words to not really say a whole lot of anything about politics in their game. They seemed to suggest that fans were angry for their story having political elements. Many stories have political elements, games have had political elements in their stories for decades. Assassins creed anyone?

People aren't mad about a story having political themes like rebellion against a government or an uprising of the oppressed against an oppressor. They're typically asking not to stuff current politics (most likely of the identity type or #resist type) into a game at the cost of immersion and good story. I trust CDPR though, and as a huge fan of their writing and care of characters (including Witcher 3's more "political" characters) I doubt this is going to be an issue unlike ubisoft's terrible hamfisted writing that created controversy over and over.
