If you want to play a legitimately terrifying horror game that encapsulates all the elements the author talks about, you'll have to look a console generation earlier to a Saturn game called Enemy Zero. This game takes the fear of uncertainty to a new level by offering you enemies that are completely invisible. The only time you will ever see them is when they briefly flash after killing one - which is rare because the monsters have a number of combat advantages over you.

Offtopic but does anyone else feel that their redesign is kind of not very good? Aside from the fact that I can't seem to navigate between comics I just don't like the layout, I don't like the weird purple hue they've chosen (it's like a washed-up Twitch), I don't like that how the ads fit in with the page, and I don't know why you'd still want to use disqus.

I was sort of excited for the relaunch of The Escapist, and reading Shamus Young gives it a shot in the arm, but this does not inspire faith in me.
