My husband and I catch every event. We're even hosting a viewing party for it next weekend!
The showcase of skill in the speedruns is nice on its own, but the commentary is often what makes the runs super interesting. It's one thing to watch someone zip through something, but a lot is added when you know the technical reasons it's possible and the history behind finding/developing the strategy.
This GDQ supports Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders, which is an excellent organization and very deserving of donations.

If you want to watch any of the runs from the event, r/speedrun has a nice compilation thread with links to the videos on Twitch and YouTube. If you're interested in GDQ in general and want to watch runs from any of the events, there's a great site here that lets you search by event, platform, title, genre, etc.

Thanks heads up about the other VOD site too. I can definitely see myself falling down a rabbit hole watching some of the old runs that I missed over the years. :P
