The previous two games are also on a big sale on Steam as part of the launch, 75% off individually or 80% off together (about $4.50 USD for both).

I tried it out for about an hour last night, and it seems great so far. The setting/backstory is completely bizarre, but the food-truck mechanic is fun. Instead of a constant flow of orders, you go through a few "preparing" phases while driving between stops and then "serving" ones while you arrive. You can see what a lot of the upcoming orders will be and prepare some dishes in advance in your holding stations, and then you can serve a bunch of people very quickly (with a new dedicated button for "serve all complete orders").

It's definitely an early-access game with a lot clearly missing, but I hope that having more time to gradually work through everything makes it less stressful for the developer than the CSD2 launch was.

I'm a huge fan of the CSD series, so it's great to see they got a concrete timeline planned out. The gameplay is pretty much there, but they need to build out the campaign/content + bug fixing, which seems to be what they are aiming to do in the early access. I'm also glad they went with the route of Early Access. The dev is pretty good about taking feedback and being on top of bug fixing, so when it does leave early access, I think it's gonna be a polished and less stress for everyone involved.
