This is super cool! Supergiant is my favorite studio, I've 100%'d all of their games, but I refused to buy Hades due to early access. This has made my day, thanks @mimicSquid!

I can't say enough good things about this game. If you liked Bastion or Transistor, check this out. The story is now complete, so you can find out what truly lies at the surface...

I absolutely loved Bastion, but couldn't get into Transistor at all (mostly the combat). Which of the games do you think it more resembles? Sadly they also seem to have dropped Linux support..

I'd say it's closer to Bastion than Transistor, in that it's real time and using a smaller set of abilities at any time.

Only one of their previous games had a day 1 Linux version, so don't give up hope quite yet. And it does have a gold rating on ProtonDB if you're the impatient sort. I also couldn't really get...

I also couldn't really get into Transistor. The combat was pretty cool, but there were too many different abilities I think. If the game was twice as long, they could have paced unlocks better, and we'd be spending less time in menus and more time on the battlefield. Also the story-telling was too dense for me; even after playing for several hours I still had no idea what was going on.

Bastion and Pyre are both among my favourite games though, so I'm definitely going to give Hades a try. I may get the Switch version if there's no Linux version by the time I'm done with my current crop of games.

That's good to know! I do have a dual boot Windows that I rarely use, but I really want to avoid using it if there is an option. And also I'd prefer to support the devs that put the time to Linux....

I agree with your points about Transistor. For me the combat often just felt very dragged out, and maybe the dense story telling added to my frustration of things not really "opening" up. It does look amazing, though.

I still have Pyre waiting to be installed in my Steam library. My SO was playing it, and it looked very pretty and interesting. Have to find the time to try that.
