I've been watching Civvie's videos for probably a year, and he covers games I've bumped into but not really played. His videos basically summarize the game without major spoilers (but with some minor ones, like secrets and whatnot), but if you have no idea where to start on a game, he'll get you running. Any of his Pro-<game> videos are really detailed, and for some games you'd never want to play (Daikatana), you can basically experience them and learn them as if you were a pro, as the name implies.
That happened with Heretic, which this video is about. I wasn't aware of its inventory system, and knowing the game has as much going on as it does piqued my interest. I don't know how far I am in it, but it's been a blast. He's gotten me starting a bunch of games, like Blood, and shown me other games I'm genuinely curious about, but didn't know about because I never got into this area of PC gaming when I was a kid, even though I've had access a PC since I was about 7.

Oh yeah, Plutonia is total bullshit, sometimes to the point where it isn't even fun. I'm pretty sure there are more chaingunners and archviles than there are imps. It's still pretty fun to play...

I would recommend you finish it though, if only so you can get in on all the jokes about it (:

Any slav jank he covers is pretty good, too. I have to admit, though, I was mostly in it for the Build games.
The slav jank is top notch. His Kreed video was hilarious.
Wow, Katie's production quality has gotten quite a bit better since I last binge watched Civvie's stuff like 6 months ago. Audio has improved too.
