Outside of the general FOMO I get when new consoles come out, I can't find a compelling reason to buy any of them at this time. I know I will eventually purchase these machines, but it likely won't be until a slim model comes out. That PS5 form factor is just too much for me and the space I have available.

The playstation 5 is pretty exciting and I'm somewhat envious as someone pretty attached to Xbox/Microsoft. However I'm pretty worried about the DualSense controller. It seems like amazing technology and it's exclusivity to Playstation might hold it back in some sense. I don't really care if the controller is exclusive, but I do wish they would partner with Valve, Microsoft, and developers in general to come up with a standard API for this new tech.
Yeah, I have no interest in buying a system specifically for the controller. But I would totally buy one separately to use on PC, day 1. Maybe one day Valve will come out with Steam Controller 2...

Here are the only flaws I see with the original:
The designated d-pad sucks as a d-pad. Not breaking for me, I don't really play any d-pad dependent games.
The left analog is too far to reach for extended periods. Mitigated by using left pad as a stick instead.
The shoulder buttons click a little too loud.
And one of the biggest advantages nobody talks about: Great battery life on plain old AA batteries. Never need to worry about charging your controller again so long as you have a spare set of rechargeable AA.
